I just picked up a 2000 sportster LE with 8 total hours on the boat. I got a smokin deal and can't wait to get out on the lake. Ive had a few boats and this is my first jet boat. Anyone have any tips or tricks for me. One question can these boats do most of the things a PWC can do. 360's etc. If so post your favorite trick to do in your SeaDoo. Thanks and I look forward to being part of the board.

Welcome and congrats on the new doo! Yeah these boats can doo most of the tricks that jet skis can do, just remember to ease into them.....learn the boat before you get too crazy with it.
A tip for jet boating is remember just like a jet ski you need throttle to manuver, as soon as you get the hang of this you should be ok. Try to practice approaching objects in open water before you just cruise right up to the dock, these boats can be a little tricky to dock or get back on the trailer without practice. Just take your time with it and you will get the hang of it in no time!

Never, EVER let an impatient fellow boater rush you at the dock or anywhere else for that matter. One of my favorite things at this point is lusting after larger Doo's....
A near wide open 360 is one of my favorites, just be sure that the marine po-leese aren't watching...

I was talking with a guy yesterday who said if you throw the boat into reverse while driving, it will throw a wave over the whole boat. Has anyone tried this. Is it OK to change gears like this?
