Thanks to a previous post, I finally replaced the cheesy scupper valve on my ’96 Speedster with a scupper ball valve from West Marine (about $12 tax included). Took about 5 minutes to install. Haven’t tested it out in the water yet but I’m sure anything is a step improvement over the old scupper valve which the flap was missing completely. Hopefully when I take it out in a few weeks, there will be no water in the boat when sitting still.

Hopefully you have better luck than I did-- my replacement still allowed water in the boat... at least my old flapper type didn't let AS much in.Thanks to a previous post, I finally replaced the cheesy scupper valve on my ’96 Speedster with a scupper ball valve from West Marine (about $12 tax included). Whatever it is will be an improvement since my old flapper was gone completely. It was open to the water.
