Kevin this is my 7 PWC and 4th boat and up to now all speedo's were fairly accurate up to close to top speed when they all read high. But none of them clocked against a radar gun or gps were ever more than 5mph off. I expect that when I pay $30K + for a boat that the speedo should at least be in the ball park? This has been an on going debate/problem for the SeaDoo speedometers, I don't think anyone has seen an accurate SeaDoo speedometer. Most of the time they are called dream-o-meters because they usually read faster than what speed you are actually going. GPS has proven to be the most accurate gauge for actual speed in the doos.

Kevin I have solved my speedo problem, I oredered a Gaffrig Digital GPS speedo and will install it next week. Since I already had a Garmin 276C GPS I was able to use the output from it and did not have to buy the receiver. Was not getting good vibes on BRP expending much effort on getting my speedo more accurate. This has been an on going debate/problem for the SeaDoo speedometers, I don't think anyone has seen an accurate SeaDoo speedometer. FYI, I did some GPS tests with my S200 today (155HP, '05). My speedo was very close from the 20's through the low 50's. My top speed with three adults and 2/3 tank of gas was 53. I just passed 10 hours so I figured a quick high speed run was in order. The water was choppy so I would expect more on glass. I was very happy with the speedo tracking the GPS, it was within a couple of MPH through the range. This was a great weekend, I spent about 4 hours on the harbor on Saturday and 3 hours on the lake on Sunday!Sounds like you did the right thing, you will get a much more accurate reading from the GPS. Post some pics of it once you get it installed.

My speedometer is pretty much right on target. Only a few mph difference from my gps. Is the gps really accurate? lolHas anyone had any luck getting the speedometer to be even close on the Speedster 200? I have run mine with the GPS and it varies from 5-10 mph error aloways on the low side. At wide open the speedo only reads mid 40's. Wanted input before talking to Seadoo about a fix.

As accurate as Big Brother wants it to be......with mine the speedo and the GPS were quite often close enough for government work. A difference of a couple miles an hour isn't enough to bother me...My speedometer is pretty much right on target. Only a few mph difference from my gps.
