Need help, am thinking of selling my 2008 C180 SE 215 hp because of this. When trying to pull a skier, I try to throttle enough and it seems to overrev and go nowhere and otherwise just doesn't have the power to pull out of the water. Even with a tube and 3 kids, there just doesn't seem to be the power and over-revving does occur unless I throttle back and take it slower. Just to clarify, I am not trying to go full throttle right away but after takeoff. I love this boat, it is comfy and roomy but need more pulling power. Is there something I can check or an after-market part that can remedy this problem? Please help!

No power to pull skier

When is the last time you replaced the wear ring?

Never have replaced the wear ring, figured with only 35 hrs., would still be good. How difficult and costly is this to do?

You can crawl under your boat and take a look at your impeller and how snug it is to the wear ring. You can also really check it out by using a flash light from one side and seeing how big the gap is. I looked at mine the other day. Mine lets a little bit of light by with only 12 hours on it. There should not be a very big gap between the impeller and wear ring. Someone that knows the spec will hopefully chime in. Water conditions and debris in the water and beaching around mud and sand can accelerate wear ring failure.
