I need to replace my wear rings and I guess the impellers while I am at it. I want to go with some Solas impellers. On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard would this be to do? Is there a DIY site somewhere that shows step by step on this? Is there anything else I have to replace/rebuild while I am doing this? I have basic hand tools and can use them but don't know a whole whole lot when it comes to being a mechanic. I can do basic stuff. My expertise is car audio!

On your scale, I would say maybe a 4. The procedure is quite simple, provided you have the impeller removal tool, a bench vise, some red Loctite, and those basic hand tools. It would help if you had new impeller shaft seals and/or pump bearings to go along with the other parts you plan to replace. If you have a service manual handy, that will show you the steps. I think I have one if you don't. I have a link or two to a DIY somewhere, but I would have to find them...I need to replace my wear rings and I guess the impellers while I am at it.
