Anyone use the new MSN search, http://search.msn.com, I just started really using it and I have grown to like it? Before I would never use anything other than Google but for some reason the new MSN search just seems to be a bit better. Looks like Microsoft might be gaining some ground on Google with this one. We are #2 right behind the main SeaDoo website when you search for "seadoo sport boats".

Something seems fishy about Google, somehow we got bumped out of the top results for the search string "seadoo sport boats":

I am going to have to contact Google on this because something definitely is not right with this, we should be somewhere from #3 - #5 in these results but we are not even showing up anymore. It is almost as our website has been flagged by them to show up lower in the search results and ranks, not right...not right at all.

On the other hand, if you search seadoosportboats, it comes up #1. Almost as if they have it set to return exact search results..... you're right about something being fishy....

Ok contacted Google:

Something seems fishy about my website SeaDooSportBoats.com showing up
in the search results on Google, somehow we got bumped out of the top

is #5.  Seems as if there should be no reason why it shouldn't be
showing up just as high in Google's results.

Is there something bizarre going on or is it just me?  Can this please
be researched and resolved.  I would really like my website to show
back up in the top results, because with it not showing up it is
affecting my traffic.  When you search for this string and you look
somewhere around #5 on Google the results are not as relevant as my
website so really my website should be showing up above these
websites.

gapman - couldnt find the required topic so i thought id post this here - about getting more activity on the forum - how about having the links to the individual boats at the top of the page so any visiting newby can see more of the overall content straight away - one thing ive always noticed is there are always more guests online than members - maybe have a small thumnail piccy of each boat so people can instantly recognise the necessary forum???

yeh that would be cool - personally think the front page should be dispalyed without having to scroll - its actually quite long due to the adverts that show at the side and the posts about boattest - is there any mileage in making the front page wider or is it optimum for a certain screen size - mine only fills half the screen with large grey margins - these are only suggestions i still think the site actually looks superb - i quite often visit various forum - to break up the monotony of a working day and this is still far better than all the others.

Ok I moved that section to the top of the right column. Yeah, the website is designed to be optimally viewed at 1024x768 (the default on most new computers), which is why it looks the way it does. Thanks for the suggestions and compliments, I always doo my best to give people what they want!

yes thats much better - i still think that if you minimise the pols on the front page so that the bottom banner is visble on opening and then have links from there it would save scrolling as the front page is very long - but hey its still looks far better than any forum ive been on.

Yeah I have contacted Google about this and they have offered no help or answers! Something really fishy is going on with them showing our website in their search results!

If you doo it the way Google claims (see below) then it shows up, http://www.google.co...Boats.com&meta=, this just means it is indexed though. Showing up in the search results based on relevancy is where the problem is!

heres just another thought for you - are you able as an independent site from seadoo - allowed to solicit dealers - to hand out say a leaflet pointing them in the direction of this website each time they sell a doo - the delaer may be interested as they will be able to 'sell' it as after sales 'support' or maybe just a sticker - i appreciate there is a cost implication - basically there are several other forums in the uk that have set up this kind of deal and it appears to be working for them - admitedly they have raised charges against their members - but hey it was less than a tenner for life menbership and i got a bumper sticker! the charges arent compulsory but members get to write there own description - ie from novice to contributor!!!!
