Hi,
Hopefully I have the correct person and email address?
I was on your web site and based on other sites I found, it is obvious that your are very knowledgable about the Sea Doos.
Can you help me?
I want to buy a Sportster 4-Tec 2005, and want to lift it in/out of water with a single davit, with two straps around hull back to davit. My concern is that the boat being 7' wide, there will be inward forces at the rub rail where the straps are at. Do you think the Sea Doo is strong enough at the rub rail to lift in/out of water? ( The strap locations are, one approx. under engine, and the second strap approx. 4' forward of it)
My second option was to lift the boat in/out with a strap to each of the transom eyes, back to the hook, and two straps from the bow/hull eye hook, back to the davit. With this option are the hull eyes strong enough (reinforced behind) where they will handle the lifting capacity of the boat??
You advice suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Craig
Ps: I can not get any knowledgable advice from the dealer.

Is the Sportster strong enough?

I say either way. I have seen the OEM lifting strap kits used with the hull "eyes" and I've seen the 2 strap/single davit kits used. The latter would be my personal preference, just because it makes me feel better with something supporting the hull.Hi,
