At the end of this season I'd like to replace the jet props and I'm thinking about replacing the carrier. Are there signs that one needs to replace the carrier or is this mainly to decrease cavitation and enhance performance?
My props have some chips on them. The previous owner must have driven the boat too shallow on a couple of occasions. I read something about needing a special tool to replace the props. Does one have to remove the carrier to replace the props or can this be done separately? What is a good replacement prop for our boats? I've read that stainless is very expensive.
Thanks for the advise,
Robert

After a bit of homework it looks like I have to remove the carriers to change the impellers. So, I might as well doo both at the same time. Saw some nice Solas impellers for about $185 a piece.
I see the impellers messurements 16/23. What do these messurements mean?
Anyone live in the DFW area?
