I was hoping for a quick bolt-on or something to that effect. The impeller may be a thought and I will check into it.Hi cAntsWim! Welcome to the best SeaDoo boat forum around. It's kind of quiet around here because not a lot of people know about us yet, and it's winter. I just went up to the lake place today to pick up a trailer load of firewood and check on my boat as it is about half way through it's winter nap. No signs of critters in the garage, that's always a relief. Anyhow. On the K&N front, no. The boats really don't have much for air cleaners. The lake is not a dusty environment so there isn't much need for one. What they have is a metal screen in the air box and this is called a "spark arrestor" I believe. They have to be certified by the coast guard for safety reasons. For performance increase I would imagine you could do as much as your credit card will allow. Maybe start by trying some different impellers? I have never switched mine out but I've heard you can see some improvement there. What about rebuilding the engines with more compression, better flowing exhaust port, bigger jets in the carbs, lighter crank and rods, etc...? I don't know much about these engines either but isn't that the type of thing one would do to increase rpm's which is in direct correlation to h/p? Again, welcome aboard. Let us know if you get any other info from other sources about hopping the boat up.
Anybody else here?
I was told by the Dealer that the one of the best bangs for the buck was to put a trim tab system on for around $1500.... Not too sure that would help the Speedster as there are no real issues with the plane... it gets there quick and stays there!!!
Anyway, if you hear of anything else let me know.
