Hello Guys,
We are looking at purchasing a 2009 Sea Doo Speedster 200 w/19hrs.
The owner says it has 510hp. The research that we have done indicates
that just the 430hp engine was available in the 2009 Speedster 200.
That 510hp engines in 2009 was only available in Sea Doo SP and SE models.
Is there some way a person can be sure which engines this Speedster has?
Thank you in advance. Happy New Year!!!!

430 or 510 hp which Hp is it?

It's easy to tell the 215 hp and the 255 hp engines apart by visual inspection. The intercooler on the 255 hp engine is external and looks like a metal box with two 2-3" diameter air hoses attached to it. The intercooler on the 215hp engine is inside the intake manifold and is not really noticeable.
If it is really the 510 hp version then you would expect to see the external intercooler on each engine (2 x 255 = 510). I don't know what the engine compartment on the 200 looks like but it should be easy to tell in person. A photo may be more difficult.
There is also a maximum horsepower rating decal next to the battery switch, but the rating is in KW.
380 KW = 510 HP
321 KW = 430 HP
From what I can tell on BRP's parts website (epc.brp.com), the 510 HP was not offered until 2010 model year. Seems like there is some confusion somewhere, but the getting a look at the engine compartment for the sticker or the engines themselves should get you your answer.

Hi mate , good question , not sure but if the engine cover is white it's 510 hp . I have a 2008 and it has yellow cover 430 HP .Not sure if both engines have different insides or bigger supercharger and injectors etc to increase HP.
