Gearing up here to take a small beating from Ivan- we should get some pretty stout winds even this far inland. Our Gulf Coast will take a spanking by tomorrow evening and Friday.

Even this far north, there is a run on everything! Not a generator to be had, batteries are slim pickings.... hang on , y'all!

Once he comes ashore, it should drop at least 2 categories in strength..if that's any consolation ! This is the 2 o'clock picture that I doctored up to show where I am on the coast...the blue square with the yellow dot inside..then right below that is Charlotte Harbor that #$%@&** Charley invaded ! Good luck you guys !! remember about "after the storm"- WATER-food-some kind of light-remember that power could be off for days OR weeks..who knows? again- stay safe !

Well, he got Gulf Shores pretty good, and blew us around all day yesterday, but we made it with few problems. I lost 1 tree in my yard, and never lost power so we had it easy. Not so fortunate in Gulf Shores and eastward along the coast.

I did finally find a generator, but after all was said and done, never needed it. A friend who has a shark fishing business in Gulf Shores (nedashark charters) was up here sheltering from the storm. He couldn't find a generator anywhere and needed it worse than we did - so the family let him have it at a bargain... Hope all is well Capt. Johns!! Visit his site at http://www.nedashark.com !Glad to hear you made it through it ok!
