Hi all,
I'm interested in purchasing a new Seadoo next week. Please post your thoughts if I should go with the Speedster 200 or Utopia 205. Both carry 7, same size, but I like the idea of the Utopia coming standard with the Bimini top. Any thoughts?

If it were my beans I'd buy a boat with the Merc engine, I would prefer the 200 or 250 Optimax because of their fuel economy and low emissions.
The 240 is a good motor, but it's a gas pig compared to the 200 and 250 optimax.
The 240 is not the best for the enviroment, but is easier to work on and cheaper to fix down the road.
I have a 4-tec in my boat, and although no problems I would choose a merc next time. (less vibration/noise than 4-tec, and problably longer life on the merc because of the displacement to HP ratio and lower RPM stress)
4-tec's 1.5Liter, 3 Cylinder 155HP 7300 RPM
Optimax 2.5Liter, 6 Cylinder 200-250HP 5500RPM
My choice, If you're not looking for speed get the 200 Optimax, U205, or for some more gut and problably more appropriate for 20FT size the 240 EFI or 250optimax if available.
The speedster 200 is a nice looking machine, too bad they did not stick a 250Merc in it , or twin merc 200......
