Helping a friend with a 2006 Sportster with a 215 4-TEC.
On a test run it started ok and got up to speed, but not as fast as last season. After about a 10 minute run, cut engine and restarted. At this point engine would start ok, idle ok, and run at 10-20% of throtle ok, but at half or WOT engine would not rev any higher. It also didn't choke out, or seem to change at all. Fuel is belived to be ok, and fuel filter was clean and flowed freely. Throtle cable showed normal range of movement.
There was also a breef warning beep about every 10 minutes, but he said that happened all last year when the engine ran fine.
He also said the whine of the supercharger seemed to have changed.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Loss of power and bogging down
