I want to buy a replacement ball type scupper valve for my boat. It has that crappy rubber flap one now. I stopped by the marine store and he said Perco has two different sizes. One fits 3/4 to 1.5", the other fits 1.5 to 3". I'm guessing I should order the smaller one. Anybody else know? I don't have real easy access to go measure mine since I keep the boat in a storage garage and pick it up on the way out of town so I wanted to get the scupper ahead of time. I did find my dealer would order me the warranty replacement part and put it in but I would have to take the boat to them and leave it there. It's a 45 minute drive the wrong direction to take the boat to them. Rather doo this one myself. Thanks for any help.

What size scupper for 14' Speedster?

Hey Bob long time no see!
I can't recall the size of the Flo-Max I bought and installed. I did take it back off because it leaked as bad as the crappy rubber drain. I ended up reinstalling the old crappy one for now. I was told by the manufacturer of the FloMax that they weren't intended for use below the water line. There isn't much difference in the waterline/deck heighth on our boats. I guess maybe you could put a sort of P trap in the deck drain line and that might help some. Anyhow, I'll measure the FloMax and let ya know what size it is.

Thanks Tiggerman. I've been sneaking around in here once in awhile but not posting much. My boat has been working well. I thought the replacement warranty/recall one that SeaDoo is using is a Perko unit but maybe I'm messed up on that. I think the hose that connects the floor drain to the scupper does run a bit uphill before heading down out the back but maybe raising it more might be a good idea. I'm thinking the size of the replacement must be based on the hose size not the hole in the hull. I guess I'll just order the smaller size and see if it fits.
Another note. When I originally posted this I checked to get an e-mail notification of reply's. I don't think I got any such notification of your reply. I wonder what's up with that?
