I'm new to all this so hope these aren't stupid questions. How fast do 510hp versions of challenger 230se 230wake and speedster 200 go? I think speedster does 65mph,but not positive. Also at full speed what is fuel milage/range of each model?and same info for cruise speeds? Can you run each one of them full throttle for full fuel tank in warm water on hot day without overheating or damaging anything? What are best ways to modify for more speed and or fuel milage? And last question, i have impression that these boats are already overpowered and only really need bigger higher flowing pumps to go faster. Is that correct?

I had a similar question, though regarding twin Rotax motors. The fuel consumption estimates are listed in the operators manual under specifications. I was pretty shocked at how fast it is supposed to suck down gas at full throttle.
Then I took it out on my river a few times and found that I don't use full throttle much. I ease the throttle up slowly, go up on plane and the speed picks up quickly. I may hit full throttle and then top speed (so far for me that is 45mph with 4-6 people). After that I find I can cut the throttle back considerably and still maintain speed. I'm sure this would vary depending on the water conditions. My river is typically pretty smooth with a mild current.

I use full throttle way too much. I have gone through 30 gallons of gas in an hour. There are also other days I have played most the day on 10 gallons. It is all relevant on how you drive it.

My throttles don't spring back so I do WOT and just spin around the whole time! 120 in gas lasts a few hours. Lol too
Much fun!!
