I traveled 100 miles on about 30 gallons. The ECO mode was great, we cruised at 30 to Catalina Island (30 miles).
I need to get a mat for the front end, because pulling anchor and putting the chain in the compartment is scratching the side and front of the boat. Any ideas?

Some Hydro-Turf should do the trick.

Would you glue hydro turf to the front or use a thick rubber mat to lay over the front end when retreiving the anchor.
I am using 50' chain and 150' of rope, I am anchoring in strong currents and anchoring close to the cliffs to provide better wind protection. So, basically I need all of the chain to keep a good hold while I leave the boat unattended.
As another alternative, do you think using coated chain will scratch less and provide the same anchor benefits of non coated chain?

I guess it depends on the area where it is rubbing exactly. If it is a flat surface you can stick some turf down. If not, just use a temporary rubber mat like you suggested.
A rubber coated chain definitely would help too. Keep us posted on what you come up with.

Kevin, what boat do you have? How about getting sone marine carpet with buttons to clip on the bow. The carpet would be upen in the middle and the anchor goes through that?
Note to self, no rear and front cushion for a day of fishing.
I am designing a fish cleaning tabe for my fish up to 100#. It will be detachable and located in the rear tow pole slot and will be stored in the ski locked with the dive weights in a crate and our multiple spearguns up to 67".

210 Wake. I would imagine anything that keeps the chain from hitting the gelcoat would work. Can you post a pic of the problem area?
That sounds interesting, would like to some pics of that too when you complete it.
