Well I hit the water with friends this past weekend and my friend told me he was bringing his surf board to try. I said what the heck lets give it a try. We had 5 on the boat and one 350lb sack in the ski locker filled. We just started surfing at the end of last season so we are beginners. I think I can surf behind this boat. I hit the sweet spot one time with just that set up. I have two more 350 sacks in the gunwhales. If I pull those out and put them on one side with everyone on the same side I think it would work even better. I did not have time to try this because I had my hungry toddler on board that had to go home. Has anybody else tried surfing behind the 180? I seen some pics of people up in seattle area surfing behing the 15 ft speedster. little different set up with people hanging off the side of the tower and a longer surf board. If defanatley going to try it next time I'm out and I'll let everybody know.

I ran 1800lbs of ballast and 2 people and rode with no rope for about 15 seconds. I wish i was a little better rider. The wakeboard wake with this much weight is really nice too. Of course the wife was out of town with the kid and they have the camera. someday i will get some pics!

I just recently tried wakesurking on a buddies' Malibu... and i'm HOOKED! I would love to see pics or a video of the wake you were able to create with that setup... pics of the setup itself would cool too! Let me know how this is working out for you because i'm REALLY interested! Can't afford a new boat... but a ballast or two is possible!
Luv ma Doo!
