Hey I just purchased a 05 Seadoo Sportster about 4 weeks ago... I have taken the boat out every weekend since I got it... Problem is the gas guage isn't working properly... It stays on a quarter tank... I fill it up every time I go out but is there a easy fix for this or do I need to bring it into the dealer for them to look at it? I'm new to the boating world and have very little experience... Any help would be great! Thanks for your time

Sea-Doo boats are known to have inaccurate fuel gauges. After 2 trips to the dealer, I removed the middle seat and access panel to the fuel tank. I removed the fuel pump and sender mechanism and bent the rod that regulates the fuel gauge position and after multiple trial and errors, got it close to accurate. The boat mechanic was a young guy, and only looked at the electronics angle of the problem. I was a truck mechanic and knew that the same fix was done rutinely to the float-levers inside the saddle tanks of semi's (in the prehistoric era that I worked on trucks!). I would not recommend this to an amatuer - it requires mechanical skills and experience. I just thought you might want to know what you might be in for - it might be easier to ust keep the tank topped off! Good luck.
