Hi,
I'm here for 1 reason, can anyone can tell me why Speedster 160 and Challenger Models are not sold in California, not even the dealers know why??? Or do they not know what they are talking about?
No answer at the Sea-Doo number listed on their website.
Just wanted something small & fast to cruise w/ wife and grandson. Small due to space and storage limits and to tow w/ my Blazer Xtreme, 2000lb max.

Mike -
It has a lot to do with the kind of engines in these boats. Some recreational areas, especially Lake Tahoe basin has banned engines that don't meet CARB 2001 requirements (http://www.dbw.ca.gov/Pubs/Blt/). As a result of these requirements, manufacturerers don't bother selling these boats in CA. But if you can find an older Speedster like me, it could still be used in 80-90% of the lakes in CA.
