Has any owners installed an aftermarket bimini top from Overton's? I was thinking of getting one but have heard that it may create stress points and can crack over time?

Thanks Doooer - would you happened to have any installation pictures or tips/pointers? Did you have to install a backing plate?

The instructions that came with it are really good. Definitely go for the support poles. They keep the bimini off of the gunwales when you don't have it up. I didn't...regretted it...and ordered a set which resulted in my paying for extra shipping. I drilled all holes on the gunwales, which is thicker fibreglass than other points on the boat. I didn't need any backing plates. One tip, that I didn't know at the time, is to put masking tape where you drill and screw so that you don't chip the gelcoat. I didn't but the chips were covered up by the fittings anyway. Thanks Doooer - would you happened to have any installation pictures or tips/pointers? Did you have to install a backing plate?
Hope this helps.

Doooer - Appreciate all the information, I'll look into the support poles also.

I would also check eBay for a bimini top, I have seen them pop-up on there from time to time.
