I just bought this boat tonight and the fuel gauge is not working. Has anyone had a fuel gauge problem.
Also and more important. What is the best advice about the oil pump failure on these motors. I don't mind mixing gas/oil but what are the majority of owners doing about this problem?

When we had our 2000 160 Speedster our fuel gauge also went bad, our issue turned out to be a bad fuel baffle. We replaced this and it started working again.
Has your oil pump failed, we had our boat for 5 years and never ran into any issues?

The oil pump is currently fine but I have found read threads on various forums about the plastic gear, that drives the oil pump, failing and causing the engine to sieze up.
I looked up that fuel baffle and it is around 180 bucks. Do you that price is worth having the fuel gauge working? Or do you think I could just look at the gas tank to inspect that level. Also did you normally fill the boat entirly up to the 40 gallons or did you find it more economical to run the boat with less fuel?

I recommend having a dealer or SeaDoo mechanic take a look at it before you shell out the 180 bucks. Last thing you want to happen is you buy this part and it doesn't fix the problem.
I knew for sure ours was the fuel baffle which it tends to be in these boats most of the time but it is better to make sure first. You could definitely just inspect it, I thought about this too but I felt it was a hassle to open the engine bay and pull the cover off to see in there since we typically had gear on top of it that also had to be removed.
I typically filled it all the way up, but we didn't run any tests to see what kind of difference it would make on fuel economy.
