Secondly, what color is the wire? Where exactly is your fuse panel located? Is it under the console storage bucket?

Thanks, it's nice to finally own a seadoo again. My last one was stolen :-(First of all, welcome to the board!

Yes, my fuse box is located under the console storage bucket. The unplugged wire is orange... i can't remember if it's solid or if it has a stripe, but i'll find out. On my fuse box, the three wires are on plugs 9, 12 and ??unknown??. Does yours have the same three wires?

Hmm, I just caught on that there was a little note at the bottom of my post with a boat type. I guess that was the default setting, because I don't remember entering that info. Anyway, my speedster is a 2001 so i'm not sure if the wiring would be the same but i'll give the test lamp a try - good idea, thanks! On the 96 Speedster, that orange wire is an auxiliary supply, and plugs into #16 on that panel. I don't have a 95 model manual handy, and can't guess the similarity. If all your accessories are still working, I would say that this is an aux. thing here as well. Use your 12V test lamp and see if the 6 empty plugs are all hot when key is on / lanyard is on. If so, plug that orange wire where it will reach, or leave it out. I'm afraid I'm not much help on this one. I have the 97 Speedster, and don't know if they're the same or not.
On a completely different tangent, I don't have an owner's manual with my boat, and i can't figure out what all the buttons on my dash do. So far i've only managed to figure out the fan, lights and horn. Is one for the bilge pump, or are they automatic? I can't hear anything happening when I use any of the buttons (maybe because of the loose wire) and I was wondering if there is a legend anywhere online that describes what the symbols mean.

The horn button should be obvious as well as the blower. The bilge is both auto and manual. If you turn it on, you should be able to hear a slight noise. The other two buttons are for lights...navigational and courtesy. One should light the bow light and the other will light the little cockpit lights behind the front seats near the deck.[On a completely different tangent, I don't have an owner's manual with my boat, and i can't figure out what all the buttons on my dash do. And thanks for the switch info. Now I know what the rest of them do! Two for lights, one bilge, one blower, one horn... uh oh, there's a sixth button... hmmm.

I only have 5 switches, but the manual says that the sixth one (bottom right row)is a "low-fuel warning system switch (if so equipped)". It says that "when the fuel tank level is low, a beeper will sound and the pilot lamp on the switch will flash to advise the operator. Press the switch to stop the beeper and turn off the pilot lamp. From that point, approximately 10% of the fuel tank capacity is left."And thanks for the switch info. Now I know what the rest of them do!
