Does your opti put out this much steam from your exhaust? on plane its not bad, but when your towing (high load going slow) it really builds up. As a auto mechanic I've been over the motor, Merc mechanics have been over the motor, they also say they haven't seen it smoke. I was told some steam was common, but I don't like that much. Makes it look like I own a piece of crap. so Does this seem normal? BTW its an 05 islandia opti 250. Motor is cooling properly, only possible problem i have found is some moisture in the air rail, but can't find anyone to confirm weather some condensation builds in the air rail, or if there should be no moisture at all.

I have never owned an Optimax engine but I will say that when we had our 240 EFI Merc it didn't smoke or steam this much. We had a little smoke on a cold start after it had been sitting for a while but that is about it.
