While I like a great deal about the jet boats technically, I find they are susceptible to stuff getting sucked into the impeller intake. That risk will vary based on the body of water but I sucked in a small stick this year that jammed in the impeller. I was really frustrated with not being able to get that out myself. Hauling it out to the dealer and $400 later I got my boat back. I hope to get this kind of DIY matintence help here. Looking forward to future discussions.

Welcome to the site, it's nice to see another Canuck jump on board. I think if you search the forums here you will find info on aftermarket intake grates that are available which greatly reduce the chances of ingesting foriegn objects into the pump. Might be worth looking into if you are running in debris-laden waters (moose droppings?).Just thought I'd introduce myself as a new member from Ontario, Canada to this site. I acquired a new 230 SE in 2008 so I've got a couple of season's under my belt. I cottage in the Haliburton area so the boat basically lives in one body of water. I hope to share maintenance and up keep info through this site as I am a hard core DIY type. I successfully winterized my boat for the first time last year and will be getting ready to do it again shortly (unfortunately).

Welcome to the website. I would say first decide which size Challenger you want to go with, 180 Challenger 18ft, 210 Challenger 21ft, or 230 Challenger 23ft. Determine which size best fits your family needs and then go from there.Hello everyone! I am looking into buying a seadoo challenger for the family any pointers or recommendations.
