Give Solas a try, they make a better impeller for your boat - http://www.solas.com/newweb/index.asp

I run a heavy 97 Speedster ( twin 717's) most of the time (4 adults). I switched to a Solas Scat-Trak "Swirl" this season and immediately noticed a big difference in hole shot and less cavitation. With 4 people, I still top out at 48 mph loaded. With tubing, sking, and kneeboarding, I find that you can't just "nail it". I find that if I get a little forward momentum before (part throttle for a few seconds)then full throttle, I get very little cavitation. I'm talking 170-225 lbs skiers. It's makes the skier work a litle bit more, but there is much better hook up. I don't know how experienced your skiers are, but I also found that for heavier skiers, that starting them off at a 45 degree angle from the boat gets them up much faster. The second advantage to the Scat-Trak "Swirl" is no more stopping to clear weeds out. The shallow water weeds have grown out of control this year, the new Swirls are like a salad shooter. No more stopping to clear them out...
If you do decide to replace the impellers, see if you can find someone who has them on a similar ride first. It's a lot of $$$ for trial and error, although everybody that has switched to them has written favorably like me. Good Luck!
