My husband and I bought a used 2007 180 Challenger SE about a month ago. We've been getting the P1116 code along with the flashing temperature light almost every time we go out on the water. What are a few things we can check to solve this issue. My husband is very handy and would like to see if there is something he can do before taking it into a dealer. We know its an overheating problem but what are some of the common causes of overheating in these boats? We're both very new to boats right now.
P1116 Code?

It could be a computer problem or it could be that is time for an oil change - the oil might not be keeping the engine cool like it should. When was the last time the oil was changed?
