Hi,
I bought a brand new 230 Wake in the U.S. and was wondering about warranty because after 13 hrs my super charger went on one of my engines.
I was told before I bought my boat there was no warranty if I brought it into Canada, but we seached my vin # at another dealship and it shows I have warranty.
The guys doing the work (an athorized sea doo dealer) on my boat say there is no warranty
I bought the boat November 14th 09
any info or advice? do the warranty transfer to Canada?
Thanks

Warranty in Canada for a boat bought in the U.S.

I would assume the manufacturers warranty is on the boat, not the owner. I could be wrong but your local dealer should be able to definitely tell you for sure. If you bought the B.E.S.T. (extended warranty) then that is registered to an individual so that would have to be transferred.

I might be wrong here but this problem has happened to friends of mine.
Bombardier or as they are now known BRP, tries desperately to STOP cross border shopping.
This is mainly due to the extreme price differences between the prices in the US with 300 million people vs 30 million people in Canada.
I guess I didn't have to tell you as you bought in the US for that very reason.
BRP which is a French Canadian company with LOADS of Canadain Government loans and grants, wants all Canadians to buy in Canada for the huge Retail mark ups.
They also hate the flucktuating Canadian $$$$$$.
You may have to take it back to your original dealer to get your warranty.
