We out yesterday and just puttered around the lake, then went faster and the temp light came on, alarms sounded so we shut off the boat. looked in the back and saw the bottom hose on water pump by thermostat blown off. According to dealer they say it's a sealed unit and they are not sure why this would happen.
They had another boat come in last year and it had the same issue as us butthen found out that the real problem was the something about the bolts on the oil pump came loose and got into 1 of the pistons.
This ended up being an engine rebuild and fighting with BRP was not very successful.
Has anyone elsee had this issue because we are thinking that this is womething that we could not have prevented. Boat has about 90-100 hours and wasn't even in the water for the 2008 season due to flooding at the cottage.
We just dropped it off today and still haven't heard back from the dealer so above is a worse case scenario.
hearing any feedback on this or similar issue would be appreciated
Thanks
Dave

I haven't heard of this issue before but there is a first for everything, please keep us posted on what you hear from the dealer.
