I am a newbie but have some questions.
1. Gas gauge is WAY off. I will fill up and after riding the gage will show 1/4 to 1/2 full and yet I can only get 10-15 gallons of gas into the tank. This has happened several times so I know it is gauge or sensor error. Even after filling to the top, my gage does not show full.
Is there an adjustment at the gauge or sensor to correct this. I talked to my dealer and they were clueless.
2. engine hatch does not life when I pull the release. Seems the pnematic rams do not supplu enough lift in the closed position to start the hatch lift. If I have someone lift the latch and I lift the hatch, when it opens about 2 inches the pnematic rams all of a sudden provide ALOT of lift. Are these adjustabe? Kinda hard to open the hatch without two people.
3. i get a good bit of vibration at some speeds when towing the boat on its supplied traler. I noticed there are no balance weights on the wheels. Do these tires need balancing? Do you have weights on yours from balancing.
4. I am looking for removable carpet to go in the boat. $500+ for about 2-3 sq. yards of carpet. WOW! I hear it does not fit well. Does anyone have cheaper, I got the money but this is some pricey carpet. I don't really want to put the 3rd party adhesive carpet in the boat as it would be harder to keep clean
Sorry for all the questions, got about 9 hours and will be taking to my local Mercury dealer as the local SeeDoo dealer did not impress me.
Thanks

I've got an '04 Speedster 160 also and I just took it in for the 10 hr check-up.
1. My gas gauge has the same problem...I fill the tank up and the gauge reads ~1/2 full, then I run it down to what appears to be fumes on the gauge. But when I pop the hood and look at the tank...it appears to be at least half full. The local Sea-Doo rep said he'd change the fuel sensor/meter under warrenty. He's ordered it but we haven't changed it yet.
2. My hatch seems to open OK. Maybe a good dose of WD-40 on the rams and hinges will get it over the initial opening hump.
3. My trailer doesn't vibrate but I'm not sure if the wheels have balancing weights or not (it's not at my house to go check).
4. I'm a carpet-free kinda guy...can't help you there.

Get the dealer to set the hatch for you.....thats why you pay all the mark up on the price!!!
It may or may not be the boat and trailer giving you vibration. I do get a little bit but I know its coming from the actual hitch/receiver. If there is a bit of play this will translate to vibration. CHECK THE LUGNUTS ON THE TRAILER!!!!!! I hope these are not loose but could be the problem also. I'l bet its either the ball or hitch that is giving you problems. Ask someone else to tow it and see what happens....... process of elimination after that. Is the boat Eye ring over or under the rubber spindle? Are the tie downs at the back tight??? Did you have to many wobbly pops the night before???

Cheers!
