We just bought a 2001 Sea Doo Utopia 185 used. Had it out yesterday for first time, reached up to 5000rpm, but never got over 10mph. We had it in the water less then 15 minutes. Never owned a jet boat before. Everything I've read says may be debris in the jet, or wear ring needs to be replaced. Have no owners manual. How do you check for debris, and what do wear rings look like and how do I check them? Also looking for an owners manual for this boat. Any help would be appreciated.

Definitely sounds like some type of debris in the intake grate or even something wrapped around the shaft, have you got under there to take a look? Keep us posted on your findings.
