You are the only one that can make the decision, but here are my pros of each:
PWC- fun, fast, like riding a motorcycle on the water
Jetboat- handles like a big PWC, more people equals more fun, stereo, storage for tubes and skis, can ride at night with proper lighting
Hope this helps,
Stephen

I owned a Sea-Doo PWC for over 10 years and just sold it last year when I found the X-20 (challenger) boat. From college, to getting married, having one child and then another, with every phase in my life I found myself having less time to ride my PWC. This combined with all my friends going through similar life changes and either selling theirs or not having time either. When we go to the lake, we like to tube and ski, so we were basically using it as a boat, except having to keep going back to the dock to change equipment.
You are the only one that can make the decision, but here are my pros of each:
PWC- fun, fast, like riding a motorcycle on the water
Jetboat- handles like a big PWC, more people equals more fun, stereo, storage for tubes and skis, can ride at night with proper lighting

Other considerations are:
- Depending where you will boat, many states require (sometimes extensive) training to use a PWC.
- Many waterways have speed and distance to shore restrictions regarding the use of PWCs.
- PWCs are likely to be more fuel efficient and easier to tow.
- PWC - You WILL get wet. Jetboat - You Might get wet.

Seriously though, a Speedster is a multi-purpose watercraft. A PWC is a one-purpose watercraft.
And there's nothing hard about towing a Speedster at all. Kinda fun to look in the mirror with pride
