Hi,
I know this is not the place but I need some advice
I have been offered a swap on my Fletcher Arrowbolt 5.7V8 2002 model with 8 hours for a Seadoo X20 2002 model with 20 hours use.
The arrowbolt is great but not a one man job to get in the water does anyone have a X20 or a challenger and how easy is it to get in and out of the water ?
Are they any good or am I mad to Swap
Thanks
Steve

The X20 is a nice boat, but I guess it would depend on what you are actually looking for in a boat. Have you any experience with a jet driven boat (I know some Fletcher boats are jets)? I'm would assume the X20 would launch as easy or easier than the Fletcher since it is a little shorter. I would compare the construction of the 2, weight, maintenance issues, handling (the jet is going to be nimble and very responsive to steering). I would definately look into maintenance history on the X20, and compare repair costs on various components. The X20 has the Mercury Jetdrive , and should be quite reliable.
What would be the things you are looking to accomplish by the trade other than an easy launching boat? Speed? HP? Fuel economy (if there is such a thing in a boat)? If it were me, and I was comfortable with my boat, and there weren't significant advantages in swapping, I would stay with what I had. My 2 cents.

Thanks for that its good to bounce off other people. !!
I have driven a Challenger 2002 model and was impressed by it but the 2 stoke put me off only because at the time I had no experience with a 2 stroke.
the Fletcher would do about 60MPH if you get your trim correct and not too choppy, its very nimble for a 21 foot boat
it would just be down to the launching
thanks for you help
