ski rope got caught up in the intake and broke the blue plastic drive shaft cover. got the ski rope out and I can imagine this has happened to some other owners out there
how big of a deal is it to go with out it and how hard to replace if it is a problem?

My starboard shaft has a cracked blue shaft cover, and seems to cavitate a little more than the port one - is this a likely cause? Also, how hard are these to change ? I live in Perth, Australia so expect parts will take a week or two to get here, anyone every just removed the covers and will it cause issues?

I have heard others running their boats with without these shaft covers so I wouldn't say it is likely that this is the cause of cavitation but it could be possible. I would recommend having a mechanic take a look see if there is a another cause for the cavitation.
