We bought it from someone in Australia and brought it over here to Vanuatu about 2 years ago, hasnt been in water since..
We got it going fine out of the water at home. few weeks ago -
When we drove it out and to the beach for the first time there was alot of water coming out of the back...
Not excessive though, however may have moved some cabling ?
Put it in the beach and there was no beeps or anything, Dead. Bigle etc worked but no engine.
Finally found 2 fuses in the engine MPEM box were blown. Unsure how though, replaced them,
Then we got one Beep...
Then found one fuse under the sterring unit, replaced also, then got two beeps ...
But no engine start..
Took to mechanic here, they have no idea...useless..
Been on many forums to get advice..
Got another mechanic to go over the wiring etc with his multimeter thing..
Cleaned the Key and all the electronic areas throuroughly...
Then get 4 beeps...
Then back to only one,...
occasioanlly heard 4 beeps then a 5th slightly after...
then one again, and one since...
MPEM failure most likely, but could it be simple fact that the water moved something when driving ?
Do I need to buy new MPEM etc ?
Please help as this is meant to be a primary addition to our watersports business over here.
Much appreciated..

I had a couple electrical problems with my '99 Speedster SK when I first got it and the way I got through them was to focus on one and move to the next. Have you downloaded the manual from here? They've got the manual specifically for your Speedster. I would recommend removing fuses from various items and then trying to start to see where the short is coming from. You should also check the "airtight" box that houses your ignition coil and starter relay. I fould one of mine FULL of water when I first got it. the relay barely made contact. If you saw a lot of water coming out some could have gotten into that box. Good luck.
