what engines are in this baby, previous owner fluctuated between twin 85hp and twin 110, I think they are 85 they say 717 on them
the engines start up real easy but when i apply more than 25%throttle both of them start bogging down, is this a fuel issue (Filter etc) ?
Other than that the boat is in great shape and I cant wait to get it out on the lake
Thanks in advance

I just picked up a challenger 14 and have a few questions

I checked the fuel filters and as near as I can tell they look OK, I find it very strange that both engines are exibiting the same behavior, Bad Fuel?

Since no-one replied, here is what was wrong, one of the hoses that attaches tot he baffle in the tank was barely connected, i thing since it was the "on" tube, if I had put it on reserve it might have worked better
anyway that problem is fixed.

congrats on your new boat
I have the same one except mine is a 2001 model year; and the 717 engine's in your boat are 85hp; the 110 is a 787cc engine. Thanks for posting your fix; mine does this every once in a while especially when the fuel is low; i will go out in the morning and check first thing; the hose that was loose you say is just one in the top of the baffil; and would it happen to both engines or just 1? when mine does it it happens to both; but it is kind of infrequent on my boat; but i will still check in the AM; thanks!
Both engines would do it, I think it was the "On" hose that was loose. Now that that is fixed i have found that now the right engine surges and drops off a bit at full throttle and sometimes dies, gotta figure that one out now. We still had a blast in it at the Lake the other day
