We have a 2004 Sportster 4-tec (not supercharged) with the wake tower. Last year, I noticed long cracks on the forward storage cover in front of the dash. Because of the location, I thought they were from someone stepping or sitting on the cover, though I was amazed that the material was so flimsy. This year, when I peeled off the storage cover, I found similar long cracks all over the engine compartment cover. These are only in the yellow gel coat areas and look to me as though the gel coat is coming apart and I have never seen this in any other boat. Is this a common problem in Sea Doo boats. We have owned a previous model Sportster (1996) and both a '96 and '07 GTI PWC, none of which ever had this type of problem. I'm thinking ours is a Friday boat (or a hungover Monday morning one). Is this covered by hull warranty?

I would take it to your dealer ASAP, there is a good chance you can get these covered under your 5 year hull warranty if it is still remaining. We had some stress cracks around pull handles and cleats on our 160 Speedster that we got covered under warranty during year 4 of the 5 year warranty.
