Hello to all! I am new to the forum and new to the boating world! I have done a lot of research and I believe that Sea Doo is the company for me! I am wondering if any of you may have any advice for my first boat purchase. Here is what I know about the boat directly copied from the seller:
The NADA books the boat at 2950-3350 and it is well worth it. The boat is clean and fun! There is no damage to hull, motor, or boat. The seats show a little fading but not compared to most boats this age. It is lake ready, I have had it out the past 5 weekends including this past Monday and Tuesday.
It is a sportster, single motor, no hour meter but approx. 150 hours, no cover or bimini top, serviced in mid-Spring, no problems and not submerged, stored in garage and winterized properly. The boat is in great shape but not in showroom condition. The hull has no damage.

All of the above information came from the seller. The boat seems to be in pretty good condition. My main question is, are these "options" the seller added really options that the Sportster has? I have looked through the pictures and the only "option" that seems legitimate in the fire extinguisher. Granted, I am new to this whole thing, but I have searched this forum and google and haven't really seen all of these options for the Sportster. Am I confused or is the seller trying to make the boat appear to be worth more than it actually is? Pictures of the boat should follow. Thank you all for your help!

welcome to the site, and honistly I would keep looking; for one I think he is asking too much; I mean 70-110 for a fire extinguisher; i picked one up at wal-mart for like 15 bucks; also what do you plan on doing with the boat with just the single engine it will have a hard time pulling up a wakeboarder or skier; will pull a tube fine but i would keep a look out for a dual engine boat or at least a boat with the 110 hp motor.

The owner is simply listing the options that can be selected on www.nadaguides.com. Don't fall for it, as a dealer I must tell you that there is a very good chance that a lot of the parts are obselete. For example Seadoo no longer has both steering cables for a 1996 Speedster, just one! I strongly recommend you hold out for a 2003 or later Sportster 4-TEC or 150 Speedster (both are the same hull). You will enjoy it more, run more efficiently, and spend less on maintenance as well.
