just purchased a 2008 speedster 150 with the 215hp.
the first time i had the boat out it took on about 2 gallons of water.it was buter flat conditions.
i also noticed the rear trunk engine compartment is nowhere near sealed, there is a 3/4 inch gap between the trunk and boat, and as well the cover over the motor is not sealed.

brand new 2008 takes on water

I would say this is unacceptable, take it to your dealer. Have them inspect the boat, water test it and get this resolved as soon as possible!
Let us know what the dealer has to say.

This is what makes me angry about "highway dealers" not putting boats in the water before a customer ever sees it! A simple water test would have prevented what could have been a catastrophe for you. The leak could be anywhere on the final drive however one thing we have found is the two siphon tubes normally used on a PWC sometimes pop off. Look at the tube locations inside the boat at the top of the drive. There should be a plastic tube connecting the two through hull fittings together. If that isn't it then it is probably on the final drive. Obviously the boat should not be used until it is fixed, bilge pumps may fail and then you are facing a real problem!

i finally got a hold of my dealer they said that all the speedsters are like this.
does anybody elese out there have a gap between the trunk and the hull {motor compartment}?there is a seal on the trunk but it is useless it does not line up and there is no way that i can see it being ajusted.the trunk lid over the engine compartment dont seal either.
why would seadoo do this?
any input would be apperciated.

Greetings:i attached some photos of the gaps between the seals.
Not sure what the first photo shows, the second is normal, the third shows the gap needed for the bilge vent fan and the engine aspiration vent to function. If you are getting water in the bilge and not doing any jumps or fast turns, you have a leak or you forgot to screw in the drain plugs.
