How many fuel pumps does a 1997 Speedster have. I can't tell by looking at it. I'm kinda hopeing it has two, that way I'll probably have my problem figured out.

One pump each engine, operated by pulsed engine vacuum. They are mounted on the side of each carb most likely.
Fuel fliters are on the wall- one mounted below the MPEM, and one almost center of that same wall. They are white. This is assuming they are still the same type as came with the boat.

Yes, the fuel filters are small white plastic things that screw onto the bottom of the mount. You un-screw the plastic cup type thing and dump the water out of it and blow out the screen. The filters are also water seperators and that's most likely your problem.

So, there are two pumps for each engine. It looks to me like there might be two coming from the gas tank, but at the same time I cannot tell and really hate to start pulling everything out of there without knowing first. So, i'm kinda stuck! One pump each engine, operated by pulsed engine vacuum. They are mounted on the side of each carb most likely.

No, only 1 pump per engine- one carb per engine as well (if it is in the stock configuration). Start by finding your fuel filters where I described they are. Unscrew the bottom portion and dump them out into a catch pan or a rag. Make sure the screens are clean and put them back together. Bob hits it on the nose when he says it is most likely your problem.
