Hey, it's great to find this site and I'm busy reading posts and found an excellent site at World of Power from one post which has saved me alot of hassle of ordering parts of a dealer. I just purchased a Speedster which is leaking oil from the oil injection tank. I need new fittings for that which I found at World of Power. Question, my starboard engine wants to race at idle up to 3K RPM's. I've taken all the adjustment at both ends of the throttle out. Moving the cable around seems to make a difference letting it idle down to 1.5K. There is a large loop in the cable, but perhaps it got pinched and is sticking? Any ideas?

I have the Rotax Engines. I also have the shop manual showing how to adjust the carbs and ensure the oil injection is also correct. A new carb throttle cable is spendy. It revs up when in and out of the waterIn or out of the water? Is it a Rotax powered boat? If it out of the water, it is normal to have a high RPM like that. If it's in the water, and the throttle blades are in the same position as the other engine, it could have an air leak or a mis-adjusted carb. Normally, the boat will slow down to around 1000-1300 RPM when idling in the water.Be very, very careful when adjusting anything that has to do with the throttle cables, or carbs. I recommend purchasing a service manual for your model and following the directions to the letter for these adjustments. IF you're not comfortable doing it yourself, get a dealer to do it.
