With 2 people in my boat it gets up and planes fairly quickly and we are able to get it going fast no issues.
Put 650lbs worth of people and booze on the challenger and it takes forever to plane (sometimes not at all), and it puts out lots of steam, especially when tubing with people.
We had the carbs rebuilt, rave's cleaned, spark plugs changed, and the large purple tube feeding water to the engine replaced (had a hole about the size of a toothpick in it), and we are down to cavitation as a last possibly problem am I right?
We tried towing someone on a tube today and it wouldn't even plane and it was performing down right horrible. Putting steam out like we're a steam boat of some sort.
Whats the deal guys?
Impeller, wear ring, and the seal?
Why am I getting tons of steam / kind of smoke? An why do you think the boat performs like shit with a bit of weight? We'll go to 7000rpm and just be going no where and then it drops to 6000rpm and we are able to plane and go from there.
Why the steam out of the exhaust? Whys it so sluggish with 4 people in it and putting out no where near what it should?

Performs poorly with 4 people / steam out of exhaust

I would say check your impeller, have professional inspect it because this could definitely cause some cavitation issues.
