I have heard of issues of worsening by letting yor boat "walk" at high speeds

But then I have heard of it increasing performance by directing water flow to the intake grate, singe jet only.

Overtons and barts have pretty good prices. Many here have installed it. I noticed on my C1800 that after many beachings, and the rocking after beaching, that the keel was pretty scratched up. If your going to doo it at least this can protect. Plus if your on a plane and hit something you will have some protection at the keel. I don''t usually beach it anymore, I''ve found that anchoring near shore then backing or pulling the rear of the boat over twards the beach as close as i can works really well. Especially if the waves are pushing the boat toward the beach, just let out enough anchor line to get right where you want to be. I carry another small anchor to tie to the stern and secure on the beach to keep the boat where I want it and pointing away from the beach. I''ve found it''s also easier to get stuff out of the back ot the boat. Plus you don''t have to worry AS much about the tide cause your not already on the beach. As is goes in/out you can just adjust the anchor line.

Hey! Sounds good to me. I will give it a try. Maybe I won't need the protector after all....
