Anyone have an idea what it would cost to get the factory wakeboard tower installed our on our 08 Challenger SE, parts and labor included? We debated getting it installed when we first purchased the boat but wanted to see how the boat performed before we made a decision.

Also we have the bimini top that came with the SE, is this the same bimini that can be used with the tower? I have seen in pictures with the tower installed that the bimini attachs to the tower when it is down. Do they just have to do something to modify our current bimini top so that it can attach to the tower or is this a completely different bimini that they have to use with the tower?

I did not get the price for a Seadoo Tower when I was shopping for one. I've looked at 2 different aftermarket towers. However, the labor quoted was $300-350 for an aftermarket one. I opted for OEM coz I don't want to void my hull warranty Besides, I thought I got a better deal buying the one with a tower already.

Although I have not used my bimini yet, I don't think you need a special kind. Yours should work with a doo tower. You probably need a different storage boot though. The boot that I have has cut outs for the tower- for securing the bimini itself when tower is up. You possibly use straps to attach it to the tower. Best is to check with the dealer. Right now I could not check mine coz my tower is down...boat is in the garage. I wish I have more garage height clearance! It's a PITA to park/ pull out. I'm leaving Friday afternoon, perhaps I can check my bimini...I'll let you know...maybe I'll take some pics for you.

Very happy with it, we only have 7 hours on it so far so we are still in the break-in period. We had our 2000 160 Speedster for 5 years so it was time to get a little more room. Still looking forward to getting out of the break-in period so we can see what the boat will really doo!

Unfortunately the factory tower can't be purchased from either a dealer or the manufacturer. We have been trying for years to get Seadoo to give us direct buy capability from the manufacturer of the tower but the answer has been and still is NO! We have spoken with the tower manufacturer as well, they are not allowed to sell Seadoo towers to anyone other than the plant in Benton, IL. The bimini for the factory tower is not the same one that comes from Seadoo on the 180 SE. The method of attachment and size are completely different. One final thing to consider is that the factory tower limits ingress and egress on and off the boat if you use the steps in the center. It may or may not be an issue but it is something worth considering unless you are a die hard skiier or boarder. With respect to voiding the warranty because of an aftermarket tower that is not true. At our dealership we will not fix what the tower has damaged ONLY, the rest of the boat will still have the 5 year hull warranty.

I have an '06 Challenger and want a tower. I really like the tower that comes with a new Challenger, are you saying that I cannot buy one? If not, where can you get a tower for this boat?

On the east coast www.monstertowers.com has a pretty good dealer network most of whom install as well. On the west coast www.skylonsports.com sells towers although I am not sure about installation. Skylon was the supplier for Sugar Sand and Gekko before they went bankrupt. We have tried to buy the factory tower tower direct from the manufacturer in TN, they can't sell it because Sea Doo owns the design. I have seen other tower manufacturers listed on Seadoosportboats.com we as a company don't have personal experience with them. Let me know how it goes.

Wow, this just dose not suprise me! My dealings with Seadoo to date is that they just dont understand and or seem to care about customer service. I am really begining to wish I had not bought my boat, just because I cant get proper service. Love the boat, but am extremelly nervous that my warrenty period is comming up and I still have unresolved issues. Maybe I'll pull my boat up north to the next closest dealer to me. Sad that I have to consider that!
