I need help finding info and parts for Solas Gold pumps. I bought a '95 Speedster and 1st trip out sucked up a nylon strap with buckle attached. It wiped out the impeller and pump vanes. Looking at the shop manual I realized that the pumps were not factory. After talking to the people at Scat-Trak (I thought the pumps might be thiers) they said the pumps were most likely Solas Gold Pumps. I have had NO luck finding any info about these pumps. I even e-mailed Solas in Asia and have had no response. Any leads would be helpful.

That is the pump. However everything behind the pump is stock Sea Doo. The pump uses ball bearings to mount the shaft. My main question is are the bearings sealed types or open with no seals or shields and grease packed?

I was lucky to have even found the picture. Can you take the pump apart? Take the nozzle off and remove the cone. Was it oil-filled? If so, it's a safe bet that the bearings aren't sealed. These had to have been PWC pumps, because I find no listing for them for the boats.....

The pump is apart. The bearings in the pump were non shielded. The whole cavitiy was packed with grease and a little water. The reason I am asking is because the last person to work on the pump installed the wrong seals. The seals were for a .875 dia shaft, but the shaft is 25mm (.984). So I am not sure he/she installed the proper bearings. The Scat-Trak Magnum pump appears to run sealed bearings from pictures on thier web site. That is why I am thinking the Gold pump might also run sealed bearings. Any thoughts? Also because of the extremely tight seals that were installed the shafts are now groved where the seals ran. The shafts are now being sleeved and remachined.I was lucky to have even found the picture. Can you take the pump apart? Take the nozzle off and remove the cone. Was it oil-filled? The stock pump had a shaft that is exactly .875" , same as the driveshaft. The pumps could be designed the same as the SkatTraks, I don't know. I wish I could be of more help. I did find a price for replacement Gold pumps.......
