The pump is apart. The bearings in the pump were non shielded. The whole cavitiy was packed with grease and a little water. The reason I am asking is because the last person to work on the pump installed the wrong seals. The seals were for a .875 dia shaft, but the shaft is 25mm (.984). So I am not sure he/she installed the proper bearings. The Scat-Trak Magnum pump appears to run sealed bearings from pictures on thier web site. That is why I am thinking the Gold pump might also run sealed bearings. Any thoughts? Also because of the extremely tight seals that were installed the shafts are now groved where the seals ran. The shafts are now being sleeved and remachined.
I was lucky to have even found the picture. Can you take the pump apart? Take the nozzle off and remove the cone. Was it oil-filled? If so, it's a safe bet that the bearings aren't sealed. These had to have been PWC pumps, because I find no listing for them for the boats.....
