Does anyone have any feedback on welding a die cast zinc fitting that's chrome plated into stainless steel tubing for my bimini?.....other than the fact that I shouldn't have ditched chemestry class?!
Have a welder trying to weld internal eye fittings and says not working. Do I get stainless steel external fittings and have him weld them?

Sorry but pot metal and stainless steel are not compatible and will not join together.Stainless to stainless or aluminum to aluminum would work great.Pot metal or zinc is used in injection molding because its cheap,readily available,and molds easily.Hope this helps,Gary L.Does anyone have any feedback on welding a die cast zinc fitting that's chrome plated into stainless steel tubing for my bimini?.....other than the fact that I shouldn't have ditched chemestry class?!
