I have a friend of a friend.. who needs some help with a 2005 Seadoo Sportster LE DI , 2 stroke.. I may sound like I know a little.. I know nothing.. but I know what it is and is not doing and I need to see if there is anyone out there who might know what the problem may be....So here it goes the thing has been serviced through and through and it was running good for about an hour or so.. It has been sitting and has like 8 miles on it.. It was just bought and the rev limiter seemed to be stuck on it... Or something.. it is stuck in what you would call limp mode... It started running great this morning for about an hour and than it made a pop noise and is back to running in limp mode again...?? If any one knows what it might be I would greatly appreciate it.. Thanks ...

My little baby generally only limps when
1: It has sucked something into the grate
2: It is not getting oil - then it will beep too
3: The water is not getting through to cool it - it will also beep

I would say back to the dealer and kick up a fuss to be ready for the summer!

What RPM does it "lock" at? How much driving is consistantly done between 4 and 5,000 RPM? These might sound like strange questions but I think we can help!

I have a 2005 Sportster LE DI 2-stroke and had problems with the boat running fine for a while, but then going into limp home mode. I could let it idle for awhile or switch it off and restart it; it would run fine for a while longer, but then go back into limp mode. I just got it back from the dealer (I really appreciate the extended warranty!). The problem appears to have been primarily an overly sensitive knock sensor (our gas is up to 10% ethanol), which was replaced with a less sensitive sensor, but a computer (control module) was also replaced. The dealer water tested the boat and experienced no problems. It is still relatively cold here in Virginia, but I can't wait to take it out to see how it performs. We'll see what happens . . .

Hi first time boater here. I bought a 2003 Seadoo Sportster LE and it comes with a depth finder. Now my problem is that after a while the Beeping noise will come on and when i press the depth finder it will shut up. I was wandering if it was the Depth finder or my boat telling me there's something wrong. If there's something wrong How can I check it.

Turn off your depth finder next time and see if the beeping still comes. If it does, make a note of the type of beeping. Is is one long beep, two beeps or even three beeps? Refer then to your manual. It may be low oil too? Eliminate the depth finder first!

where in the manual can i find information about BEEPING. I downloaded it from the website
