Just wanting to know what kind of oil you guys are using and recommend for a 2006 speedster with the 155 hp 4tecs. Getting ready to winterize and change oil and filters. I bought Castrol GTX to use but wanting to know if this is a good oil, or do you guys recommend and use something else. Thanks for any help.

As long as you're not running the SC version, that's good oil.

No, just the standard 155's. I didn't see paying the outrageous price the dealer wanted for the oil. The Castrol may be better oil anyway, who knows. I just want a good oil to use that I can trust in my boat. Would I benefit from anything synthetic, or should I just stick with the Castrol GTX. Thanks again.

What about the new Amsoil marine oil. Would it be worth spending the extra money, (not sure how much it is), or just stick with something else.

Synthetic would be your best bet. It is made not hold up better at higher temps. Any thing you can do to keep your oil at it's peak friction fighting is a plus for your engine.
The GTX has friction modifiers in it and is a NO NO for SC engines. It makes the clutch washers slip.
If you are interested in the AMSOIL check out this thread AMSOIL

I think I will go with the Castrol Syntec. It has to be better than the SeaDoo non syn. oil that they use at the dealer. If I had the superchargers then I would only use the SeaDoo non syn. I don't think I can go wrong with the Syntec, do you?
Thanks soo much
