Well went to the lake Sat. Beautiful day, rode around a good while. Was heading back to landing and my cousin was driving (2006 speedster). Driver engine started to vibrate and I knew I had sucked up a stick. Couldn't clear it out by revving it like I had done when it happened before. Limped it back to the boat ramp and put it on the trailer. Well one of the rear lights got busted out on the trailer somehow. Put it on the trailer and swung the intake grate down when I got home. Pulled out a small stick that the impeller had cut into. I hope this doesn't start to happen often. There were some rains here, and they raised the lake Sat. like they always do, and there were a lot of sticks in the water. Just a bummer day.

Kev - Was there some reason why you couldn't clear the stick with the boat still in the water?? In the coastal waters around here, there are times when the tides wash A LOT of marsh grass out into the rivers. I've had to clear marsh reeds from my Speedster and from a Sea-Doo GTX I use to own and in each case, I just got into the water, went underneath, and cleared the intake.
Just curious......
Sorry your day ended on a rather sour note. The broken tail light was salt in the wound, eh?

I probably could have, but the water was still a little chilly here. I cannot fit my hand in the intake with the grate up, and didn't think of hitting the ICS button, and then turning the battery off. It was just a small stick stuck on the impeller. Next time I will probably find a place to beach it and try and reach in there from the water. Dont know if I can reach my hand in there from the side of the boat, or if I have to go underneath. At least I know what happens now, and I can hopefully fix it if it happens again.

Similar thing happened to me yesterday.
While crusing just on plane, strong vibration. Reduced to 2500 rpm, ok.
Tried usual clearing methods without success.
Went under boat but could not feel anything in intake or pump outlet.
Put on trailer , and looking in intake , saw something on leading edge of screw.
Used 2 foot long screwdriver to pry out what turned out to be a one inch diameter x 1/4 inch thick piece if hard vinyl ( like from a car bumper ).
All OK now.
Will add said screwdriver to my on-board tool kit.
