I need some advice on buying a 1998 Sea Doo Speedster. I saw a post on someone asking about buying a boat used. I know that you don't necessarily want to buy someone else's headaches, but what should I look for in a used boat?
I've found a 1998 speedster that was owned by one owner. It has the 2 110 hp engines. The marina told me that they have serviced the boat since it was bought in 1998. They did a 'MAJOR SERVICE' on the engine in August. They told me that they took apart the jets, resealed the engine and had a computer on one engine replaced. Once I take it off the lot, I also get a 30 day full warranty. Does this sound like a good risk to take or is there more that I should be worried about.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

I think it sounds like a good deal. I just bought a used one on the net and have to pick it up this weekend. Kinda scared. Anytime dealer maint. is involved it usually means 2 things. 1-someone cared about their boat enough to have the maint. done and 2 the person realized that they couldn't (or didn't want to) do the stuff themselves and let the pros do it. I would just make sure you could run it a few times in those 30 days of warranty to find out if everything is legit.
Good luck!

Why not tell them you will do the deal if they give you a 60 day warranty?
Just a tip.
