I was talking to someone and they told me that on a speedster at the beginning of the summer when the boat is freshly waxed etc, it cuts through the water and goes the fastest it can, but when it sits in the water a while algae and other stuff eats the wax away and slows the boat down some...Is this true? If so how hard is it to wax a boat hull, is it just like doing a car? Thanks!
is this true?

I never wax my bottom side... of the boat
If it does sit in the water for a long time, algae will grow on it. It's not hard to wax a boat, about like a car. I have done mine by hand before, but I don't make it a habit. I think I waxed mine twice last year. I don't know about the first question whether or not the boat's its fastest with fresh wax... my boats quick ALL the time!!

When I wax my boat it comes off the trailer easier too!! ....
How much faster did the boat go? 1.5mph?? In theory it certainly makes sense, but unless your racing for Pink slips then not sure it makes much difference.
Now if it helps prevent Barnacles and Conks from attaching themselves and slowing the boat down.......then WAX on WAX off !!!!!
